I purchased The 21 point tune-up on Angie's list. I left my gym training session early to be here at 8 since i was told I was the first appointment. Your tech arrived at 1045 and spent 15 minutes on my door. At the Angie's list price of $125, I guess that means your service is worth $500 an hour. For the first time in my life, I didn't tip. I surely didn't get my $$ worth on this one.
We apologize for your inconvenience. We try hard to stay within our two hour window, but sometimes traffic becomes an issue. Your technician performed a 25 point safety check and lubed your door, along with replacing the rollers. He is an expert in this field and performs this jobs many times a day. We do not apologize for our rapid response to getting work done, we just make sure it is done correctly.

I had to have one torsion spring replaced and the technician informed me that BOTH have to be replaced to do the job. Alan is a nice guy and did a good job but when I received the final bill, it was $495, much higher than what was quoted. Also, my research shows such springs sell for $49 at Home Depot. I was expecting to pay $250 for springs, service and repair. I could not care less about a 3 year warranty. Work was in Annapolis (Not on your list of choices)
Thank you for your review. I spoke with our manager and with Alan. Alan explained the work that was needed, and the importance of having both springs replaced, after he did the safety check. Spring prices have gone up 12 times in the last year. Home Depot does sell springs, but they are extension springs, and not torsion springs. Our springs are 30,000 cycle springs, unlike others that are 5-10,000 cycles. Alan also indicated you were aware of the cost of repair and signed and initialed prior to work being completed. Please understand that we make sure our customers are fully aware of the cost of repair, and agree to work prior to the beginning of any work being done. With that said, please know that you can feel comfort in knowing that your new springs will work well with your garage door! Thank you for your business.

I have never been more pleased. Derrick was early and solved the problem in a few minutes. Reassembled, tested, and lubricated my system. Mentioned a couple of things I should keep an eye on and was on his way. After a week of accomplishing nothing except a visit to the emergency room, all is as it should be. I was very pleased with how the service call was handled from beginning to end. When I had a problem with making an appointment to have a garage door tune-up later in the month, the person went ahead and fit me in that week. Derrick showed up a little late that day (some jobs took longer than expected) but the company had called me twice earlier to warn that he was delayed and Derrick himself apologized for being late. Then he got right to work and did a tune-up plus ... after consulting with me ... replaced the "rollers" on the garage door. The door now opens really smoothly and quietly.

He informed me that you had ordered your own circuit board and could not get the remotes programmed. He programmed the remotes as instructed. Derrick is going to order the proper circuit board and install it. There is a possibility that the board you installed was not done correctly. I wanted to submit my review for the work done on my garage door to fix a broken torsion spring. When I scheduled the appointment I was given the window of 1:00-3:00 PM for arrival time. Derrick called me at about 12:30ish to let me know he would be there in about 20 minutes, so he was there at my home a few minutes BEFORE the time-frame I was given. To me this was great. I'm a busy guy and it was a nice touch that he got there when he did because I had an event scheduled for later that afternoon, but I really wanted to have the door fixed. In no time Derrick assessed the problem and gave me an estimate for the parts and service he was going to provide, and even gave me the option to upgrade to a 2-spring setup. (I declined and stayed with a 1-spring setup.) Once we had decided on the repair option, Derrick immediately got busy, had the repair done in no time, was extremely polite and friendly answering any question I had, and in general made it a very pleasant experience. Not only did he replace the broken torsion spring but he also trued up my garage door tracks, lubricated all the points that needed to be lubricated, and in general tuned up the door so that now it runs smoothly, and it's less than half as loud as it was previously. Something I'd like to address that was mentioned negatively in another review was the price of the parts and service. The spring that went in is rated between 30 and 50 thousand cycles, which replaced the original 10,000 cycle spring, so they used quality parts to fix my door. In addition to that, Derrick clearly knows exactly what he's doing - I believe that when someone develops knowledge and skill related to a task that those skills and knowledge are worth something. I had no qualms paying what I did for the parts or labor, and I will recommend Precision Garage Door of Baltimore to anyone I know who needs a repair on their garage door. Thanks Derrick for hooking me up! Service was quick, professional, and it took a load off of my mind knowing that the door was repaired correctly with parts that are warrantied, and will last for years and years to come.

The work performed was fine. The prices, however, were not. $125 per spring? $35 per safety cable? I understand that your price builds in labor, but I can buy the same springs for $25 online. Given those prices and the time required to install the pair of springs, I calculate a labor/ overhead rate of $200/ hour. I'm sorry, but I can't see how that rate is justified
Mr. Faul, We appreciate your comments, and strive for 100% satisfaction. Please know that the parts you buy online are not the same superior parts we use. Our springs are 30000 cycle springs, where most are 5-10000. We use only superior parts and back them with our warranty, that you will not get online. Our trucks are fully stocked, and our technicians are trained and cried. We carry workmanship comp I durance, which many companies do not,. Without this, the I juried worker could sue you the homeowner. We are not the most inexpensive company, but we stand behind our work, and are licensed and insured.
